The Sixers received some unfortunate news over the weekend regarding some of their best players health situation ahead of Monday night's contest with the struggling Los Angeles Clippers.
Paul George could potentially play in Monday night's game - wait, I'm being told that's actually the good news? Oh, okay.
The bad news?
Kelly Oubre is hurt - a ligament injury in his knee - and will be out for at least Monday's game, with no timetable for return. The 11-year vet has been a fixture in the starting five this season, averaging 16.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. In his absence, expect the recently returning Dominick Barlow as well as the red hot Justin Edwards to receive increases in their minutes.

Back to Paul George - he is in fact listed as questionable for Monday night's game against his former team in what could be his season debut. George, who averaged 16.2 PPG in 41 games in his first season with the Sixers, is not someone you should expect to be a huge difference maker. He's well beyond that point in his career, at 35-years-old. But he really can be a useful weapon for the Sixers, providing them with some much needed help.
The Sixers have been in a bit of a rut lately. They're 7-5, dropping four of their past six games. A heavy reliance on Tyrese Maxey late in games - due to the loss of Joel Embiid for an undisclosed period of time - has caused the offense to look painfully stagnant and has led to some disappointing results.
But they'll be looking to turn that around Monday night against a depleted Clippers team entering the second half of a back-to-back. After a loss to the Celtics on Sunday, Los Angeles will be without Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal, Derrick Jones Jr, and Jordan Miller Monday night. Bogdan Bogdanovic is questionable.
The Sixers will be missing Joel Embiid - who extends his absence to nine days with "knee soreness - Kelly Oubre, and Adem Bona - who recently suffered a right ankle injury. Rookie big man Johni Broome has been recalled from the Delaware Bluecoats, as well as guard Jared McCain.
Beyond Monday night's game, the Sixers will host the Raptors on Wednesday, head to Milwaukee for a back-to-back with the Bucks on Thursday, and wrap up the week at home with the Heat on Sunday. A convincing win against the Clippers would be a nice confidence boost for the week ahead.
